It all started out of love...
“Mikey’s Place” was created out of love for a unique furry boy- Michael Thomasz Velarde III. Michael Thomasz III was the baby of the family and my son.
After his very difficult passing on the family, I decided to create a legacy in his name so our love for him may keep on growing in the care for other dogs.
This is the reason you may rest assured that at “Mikey’s Place” we love and care for your dog deeply as if they were our very own!

Betty is a woman who has turned her love for animals into a life mission. She sees dogs not just as pets, but as part of her family. Her heart beats for every paw that comes into her life.
Betty is a passionate advocate for animal welfare, a dreamer- who decided to open the doors of her home and her heart to care for, protect, and bring joy to those beings who don’t have a voice, but have so much love to give.
With her contagious energy, a smile that inspires confidence, and endless affection for every furry friend who comes to Mikey’s Place, Betty lives to serve and create a more gentle world for our furry friends, turning Mikey’s Place into a place where every furry friend finds a home and a heart willing to care for them.

I’ve loved animals since I was little, and today I have the joy of contributing to a place where dogs aren’t just our clients…they’re family!
I’m a defender of respect for all living beings, and above all, a huge dog lover. I firmly believe that animals not only keep us company, but also teach us how to live with loyalty, joy, and authenticity.
My mission is to connect with every family that trusts us, build bridges of confidence, and ensure that each furry friend receives the love and care they deserve.

Let’s start by saying- I’m a princess. My family rescued me from Kentucky where I was kept in the backyard of a house with my brother Wilson. I am a year and half old and I help my mom with booking our clients at Mikey’s Place.
I am super energetic and adventurous. I am ALWAYS looking for treasures. My hobbies are looking for lizards and chasing after squirrels. People scare me sometimes so I am a bit shy and nervous when I first meet someone. After I get comfortable I’m the sweetest little girl. I love it here and I know you will too!

Hi friends! My family rescued me from Kentucky where I used to be kept in the backyard with my sister Ruby and 4 other Beagles. My mom started out fostering me but I am such a good boy that she just HAD to keep me, so here I am. I am super friendly and polite. I LOVE everyone!
I am 5 years old and I make sure everyone has a wonderful time here at Mikey’s Place. My favorite part of the day is breakfast and dinner time. I also love sleeping quite a bit but I am super smart when my pawrents give me games and puzzles to solve. Looking forward to play with you!

Papa Carlos is the energy and happiness that guides every corner of Mikeys’ Place. As a Pack Leader, his connection with the dogs is as natural, as it is genuine; he plays with them with the innocence of a child and protects them with the strength of a true guardian.
For Papa Carlos, every dog is not just a pet, they are family. He looks at them with eyes of a friend, shares with them as life companions and integrates them into a pack where everyone is important.
His contagious laugh and kind spirit make the doggies follow him with trust and affection. With Carlos, every game becomes an adventure, and every day at Mikey’s Place is a happy memory filled with love and connection. Because being a leader of the pack is not just a title, it is a bond from the heart.
